Contest – $250 Up For Grabbing!

After quite a bit of silence, I’ve decided to go ahead and post a small contest on this blog. Time to get a bit serious about Supersway. 
Without further ado, I’ll get down the business -
Here’s what you win –
Winner – $200 cash paid directly to your Paypal.
1st runner up – $25 cash paid directly via Paypal.
2nd runner up – $25 cash paid directly via Paypal.
Here’s how the contest runs -
You’ll be awarded points on completing certain tasks. (I’ll list those below) On every 10 points you gather, you’ll collect an entry. At the end of the contest, the one with the most point wins the contest.
Here are the tasks that get you points -
1) Subscribing gets you 20 points. This is required for entry to the contest. You may subscribe from the top right. Only one subscription per person please.
2) Tweeting this post once gets you 10 points. You’re allowed only one tweet a day.
3) Commenting on this blog gets you 5 points per comment. You can comment as many times as you wish. Comments count starting today.
4) Linking back to this blog (not the post) gets you 10 points per link.
- Links can be from your website, from blog commenting, forum signatures… from anything that can be verified!
- Links must not be on porn, hatred or such sites and it must be relevant.
- The anchor text should preferably be something on the tracks of “Internet Marketing”… like “Internet Marketing tips”, “Internet Marketing blog” etc.
- Special Rule – If the link is PR4+, you’ll get 25 points.
5) If you’d like, submitting a guest post which is accepted earns you 50 points. The article should be of a decent length and must be on the topic of Internet Marketing. I’ll publish it on this blog and you’ll also get a couple of backlinks!
6) Digg this post / Stumble / Social Bookmark *** this post – You get 5 points for that.
There. That’s it. You can collect points by successfully completing a task, for an example – an accepted comment, a verifiable linkback etc.

The contest runs from 24th July to 9th September, around 45 days. On the 10th of September, I’ll announce the winners of the contest. On the 9th of September, everyone who has participated must send me an email with complete proof and links to their tasks completed. You may want to keep updating everyone about the progress from right here on this blog post via comments.
There’s one special rule — You must *not* try to fool the system, get lots of junk posting done as they will not be counted and you may even be banned. Junk posting includes registering on thousands of forums and posting a signature link with zero posts, posting tons of junk comments. Please play the game fair and square.

Hi Swastik, I am definitely contesting for the prices. Just a few questions:
1) If I win, Paypal does not allow receiving money in my country. Will you pay on alternative payment processors? Or will you give something else with the face value of the winning price?
2) One tweet per day allowed. So if I tweet about this contest the next day, will I get an additional 10 points as so on till final day?
3) Apart from Digg and Stumble, will you offer points for bookmarking on other social sites, such as Mix, Propeller, Connotea, etc?
4) I think you should limit points to one comment per post, unless the second and subsequent comments adds value to the post.
4) I also think you should offer variable points for link backs. Remember the contest on STZ where there were link backs from useless sites. So maybe you can offer 20 points for back link from, say, Warrior Forums and DP but only 1 point from an unknown webmaster forum from China or Iran.
5) Will you offer bonus points for tasks done by contestant that is not required, such as, creating Press Releases on behalf of Supersway, social bookmarking your other posts, etc.

Sorry for double post, but I forgot one question:
How will you count back links? Say I put a signature on DP with my account having 500 posts. Will you count this as 500 back links or just 1? Simply asking, will you count multiple back links coming from one domain as only one link?

2) Hopefully yes, and 1 person is limited to tweet using 1 account (because there is a people who have >1 acc)
4) I think it’s OK, since it’s webmaster forum, so i think the points is same.
5) There is already many ways to get entry, so i think it’s no needed

2) Yeah. That’s exactly how it is.
3) Yeah, I’ll publish a list of social bookmarking sites that I allow.
4) Sure, I’ll give that a thought and add that as a rule.
5) You’ve a good idea there. I’ll give it a thought and implement it if possible..
6) 1 link to be fair. (I know they are technically that many, but since it’ll give an unfair advantage to those with much more posts, I think I’ll keep it this way).
I’ll implement those suggestions asap!

Thanks for clearing up my queries Swastik. I am planning to help you promote this contest, as well as try to win some prices. By the way, I have one more question and a possible recommendation.
Question is: Will you count previous comments to include in points. Supersway did not have much of a following, so I think its fair that you reward your previous readers for being loyal.
Recommendation is: Please choose a random draw system instead of picking the most points getter. The problems with choosing the person with most points is that they can work day and night to post on irrelevant forums, blogs, etc and get points. Posting about the contest on a thousand unknown forums is no better than posting once on high profile forums. Say I write a a Press Release for Supersway and that is all I do. Another person posts on thousands of webmaster forums that only has the owner visit it once a month. the latter will obviously get more points, thus bettering his/her chance of winning. But my Press Release, which brought in much attention, should also have a chance of winning. You say, but random picking of winners should

Answer – No, the previous comments are not counted. It’ll be fair to start counting the comments from right now.
On your recommendation, it’s a very good thought and one that I certainly had to consider. However, if I do a random draw, it may deprive the hardest worker throughout the contest of a well deserved prize and it may even get a junk poster above everything.
To get around, this I’ve added a special rule.

There is still a lot of question swastik, and i think it’s normal since we wanna play safe
On blog commenting in other blog, is there any post limitation to get entry? I mean, for example : how if i do 10 comment on blog “x” ? Do you count it all as a point?
I’m already registered on many forum, but my post is not too much, can i add the contribution first to that forum and then make signature and you count it?
I will give them contribution them, such posting 20x.
If i do it first (give contribvution), is not junker anymore, right?

Anyway i have a suggestion, because the prize for 1th and 2nd is too far different, how about divide the 1st prize? So, the 1st prize become $175 and the 2nd get $50? It’s just idea. Yes or no, it’s OK

You still can give it a go. Just find out PR4+ websites and leave a backlink with “Internet Marketing” as anchor text and you’ll get 25 points. Doing just 20-30 of those will give you a good shot at the prize!

im really confused about twiiter.
